Pepsi Self-check out Vending Unit

The Pepsi Office Smart Cart project aims to design a new vending cart family that bridges tradition and innovation while aligning with Pepsi’s existing vending machine aesthetic. The objective focuses on creating a compact, dual-purpose cart with dedicated compartments for beverages and snacks, maximizing storage efficiency and reducing its footprint. The design emphasizes accessibility by accommodating wheelchair users, with clear pathways and an elevated fridge unit for ease of use. Rooted in Pepsi’s brand identity, the cart integrates cohesive visual language and production techniques such as sheet bending. The final concept delivers a modern, functional vending solution that reflects Pepsi’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and practical design excellence.

Tthe camera-based sensors are integrated with the cart’s user interface to provide seamless payment options. By associating the identified items with the customer’s account or payment method, the cart enables a contactless, self-service experience, reducing the need for manual input or external scanning devices. This innovation not only improves efficiency but also enhances customer satisfaction, making the vending process faster and more intuitive.

The Pepsi Office Smart Cart is designed with a small footprint to fit seamlessly into office buildings and campus spaces without disrupting foot traffic. Its compact size allows placement in break rooms, lobbies, and hallways, making refreshments easily accessible. Despite its reduced size, the cart offers a diverse food selection beyond beverages and snacks, catering to the needs of busy professionals and students. This ensures convenient access to quick meals and healthier options while maximizing space efficiency in shared environments.
